b.a.y. fund raised more than $40,000 through its third annual gala fundraiser, the “Red Hot Ball.” The exclusive event, held on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco, was host to more than 650 distinguished guests including Mayor Gavin Newsom.

The event included both a raffle and a silent auction, where attendees raised money with bidding on prizes such as travel, spa treatments and gift packages from various wineries businesses around the Bay Area. Guests also enjoyed dancing to the live music of Pride & Joy and DJ Seven.

"This year's red hot ball was a first class success. Everyone enjoyed the night of dancing, socializing and catching up with old friends, all ultimately helping the children students of b.a.y. fund,” said Andrea Bornstein, b.a.y. fund board member and event Co-Chair. “b.a.y. fund is so unique and important because it provides a plethora of opportunities and resources to help at-risk children learn the skills and habits necessary to advance their education to levels they and their families never thought possible.”
